The APC AP4453A is an automatic transfer switch that fits a 2U space in a standard rack and protects critical equipment by switching between two independent power sources when the preferred source becomes unstable or unavailable. Two 8 ft cords with NEMA L5-30P plugs connect the unit to separate branch circuits, so servers, storage arrays, and network gear keep running even during maintenance or unexpected outages on one line.

Sixteen NEMA 5-20R outlets are arranged in two banks, each guarded by its own 20 A circuit breaker. This layout lets you segment loads and balance power draw while supporting a combined capacity of 2880 VA. The design suits medium-density racks in data centers, branch offices, edge locations, and test labs where uptime is valued but space is limited.

A front-panel LCD shows real-time information such as input voltage, outlet group status, load level, and ambient temperature, giving technicians an instant health check while standing at the rack. For off-site monitoring, the built-in Gigabit Ethernet port works with a familiar Web interface, SNMP, or a command line, so administrators can review metrics, set thresholds, and receive alerts without a physical visit.
