Although I have limited knowledge about the history of this item, the estate where purchased stated that these were hand machined by a gentlemen in Tucson. It is an interesting design that can cap on both sides, both to close it and when writing. Please see photos for set up. It weighs about 2 ounces and feels weighty and nice to hold and write with.
Please note that there is some tarnishing and marks. I do not know how much lead is left but it is writing currently. These were stored for many years.
